John of God, born Joao Teixeira de Faria, has access to very deep trance states. He completely surrenders his body and his mind to welcome the many different spirits performing miraculous healings through him. Witnessing him in this state leaves no doubt that we are not the only consciousness in the Universe. Medium Joao does not remember what takes place while he is in this state, and yet thousands are cured of serious health problems under his care.

In 1978 John of God founded the Casa de Dom Inacio, a Sanctuary of love and healing in Central Brazil. His work is free for all, and there are no exceptions.

Medium Joao's work transcends individual religious beliefs and philosophies. His work has been praised by many people of diverse backgrounds, beliefs and cultures, among them Buddhists, Christians, Jews and Muslims.

The Dalai Lama has acknowledged his support to Medium Joao's work. The Tibetan flags are displayed at the Main Assembly Hall at the Casa de Dom Inacio.

Medium Joao is gifted with extraordinary compassion, generosity and humility. A channel to unconditional love, he acknowledges that he is not the healer, but God: "I am not the one who cures, God is the Healer, I am simply the vessel."

His work has been known to reverse, arrest or completely heal cancer, AIDS, muscular dystrophy, asthma, heart disease, multiple sclerosis, stroke complications, blindness, paralysis and many other conditions including those of the mind, the emotions and the spirit.

Below is a message from Medium Joao, printed in the small flyers handed to us when we visit the Casa:

“I am just a man. For over twenty-five years I have been working in Dom Inacio’s house on the soil of Abadiania, this blessed earth, where God placed me to accomplish my mission. The one who cures is God, who, in his infinite kindness, permits the Entities that assist me to provide to you, my brothers and sisters, cures and comfort, while I am just an instrument in his divine hands.

I was a gold panner (a prospector) once and I know that the precious stone, in order to show its beauty, needs to suffer the waste of stone cutting, and before polishing, whoever doesn’t know the stone won’t give it any value. Each son and daughter is a rare diamond of creation that must be polished in order to realize his higher mission.

The world passes through great transformations, consequently generating great suffering, so we must put our force and faith residing in confidence in that One Supreme Being, that is our God.

To conclude, I take as a message the words of God: "Love one another, just as I love you."
